Young Democrats of Will County Stand in Solidarity with the WTTW workers

Naperville, Ill. – The following is a statement from YDWC President Tyler Giacalone on the WTTW technicians strike:

“Just as we have always stood in solidarity with the working people of our communities, our state, and our country, the Young Democrats of Will County now stand shoulder to shoulder with the striking WTTW Technicians.

Despite nearly a year of good faith efforts by the station workers to come to a fair agreement on protecting their jobs, managers have refused to cooperate, and we applaud the technicians and Local Union 1220 for standing up for their rights and saying loudly and clearly, ‘Enough is enough.’

We implore all Will County Democratic officials to do the stand with the striking workers, not cross the picket line, and refuse to go on any WTTW programming until management respects the technicians’ rights.”
