YDWC Stands in Solidarity with the Young Person that was Shot While Canvassing for Sen. Warnock

Bolingbrook, Ill. - The Following is a Statement by Young Democrats of Will County President, Tyler Giacalone, on the tragedy in Savannah, Georgia:

An attack on one of us is an attack on all of us. The Young Democrats of Will County stand in solidarity with the Young Person that was shot while canvassing for Senator Raphael Warnock.

This is a symptom of a much larger problem: gun violence is now a public health crisis in our country, and it's a scourge on every single one of our communities. Tragedies like this are becoming far too common in America, leading to more deaths and injuries everyday.

But we will not backdown. Young People everywhere are stepping up and fighting for better, more unified neighborhoods, communities, and country for all of us, and we will not rest until we are once again one nation, indivisible. Today, we grieve with Georgia families. Tomorrow, we continue the fight, and will always stay #GeorgiaStrong
