Tyler Giacalone | President
Tyler Giacalone (he/him/his) is President and the founder of the Young Democrats of Will County and has been a community organizer for over a decade. He earned his undergraduate degree from the John Glenn College of Public Affairs at The Ohio State University (Go Buckeyes!) where he published papers on energy policy and testified at the Ohio State House against HB 48, a bill that would allow open carry of firearms on school grounds. He also holds a Master’s Degree in the Teaching of History from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and is a licensed educator and current multi-needs teacher in Bolingbrook, Illinois. He has worked for campaigns and Democratic organizations at all levels of government and across multiple states, including Ohio, Illinois, and North Carolina, as well as for Senator Dick Durbin on Capitol Hill. Most recently, he served as the Deputy Director of the 2022 Will County Democratic Coordinated Campaign. Tyler has always believed that the Democratic Party is at its best when young people are involved in every aspect, from volunteering to running for office. He founded the Young Democrats of Will County with the purpose of representing the Democratic Party to young people and young people to the Democratic Party.
